Project Seahorse - Administrative Manager for Marine Conservation

Project Seahorse (www.projectseahorse.org) is an international marine conservation team based out of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada (www.ubc.ca), where this position is located, and the Zoological Society of London, UK (www.zsl.org).  

We seek an Administrative Manager to ensure that Project Seahorse continues to function professionally, efficiently and effectively. This person will be a member of the Project Seahorse leadership team, reporting to the Director, and will have supervisory responsibilities. S/he will participate in strategic planning, policy development, systems development and ongoing fundraising. The Administrative Manager develops, implements and evaluates the systems needed to deliver on organizational priorities in conservation. S/he will lead and be engaged in all aspects of administration, human resources, financial planning and management for all team members and all funding sources. International travel to field offices may be required.   

The Administrative Manager will need to be a leader with integrity, who shows initiative, takes a thoughtful approach to management challenges and exhibits good interpersonal skills. S/he should have qualifications and extensive experience in financial management, human resources, project management and administration. We particularly seek well-developed problem solving and analytical capacity and a proven track record of managing diverse projects and working to deadlines. We are also looking for a demonstrated interest in conservation and resource management and experience of working internationally.
